Back in NYC, Joppa Takes No Prisoners

Thanks to everyone who came out to our shows this weekend. Especially those of you who made the trip from DC up to New York. We all had an awesome time partying with the Joppa army and look forward to doing it again several times this Summer. We just booked what looks to be our last DC show of the Summer before we embark on our first tour. We will be playing August 6th at the DC-9 with Matt White and Sparky's flaw. After that we hit the road making our way up to Burlington, VT for our final show of the Summer. Be sure to keep checking back on the website for updates from the road and other exciting stuff, thanks again to everyone and we'll see you soon!

Joppa & NYC's Excellent Adventure

Thank you to everyone who came out to our show at Sullivan Hall. We had a great time playing for you. The turnout was amazing and the night was ridiculous. For those of you who were not lucky enough to see the show, an unprecedented super jam occurred after Joppa left the stage. The Lee Boys were already set to have Marco Benevento sit in with them, but right before the show, Warren Haynes decided he would sit in with the band. As if this wasn't enough During the set, Eric Krasno, (guitar player from soulive,) decided to come out of nowhere and sit in with band. Before we knew it, The Lee Boys, Haynes, Benevento and Eric Krasno were involved in a face melting guitar and organ blues mind destruction.

After the show, all of us in Joppa were lucky enough to get a chance to spend some time with Warren Haynes, Benevento, and Krasno backstage, and at the bar next door. After sharing some stories and advice somehow Ramzy ended up buying Benevento's Hammond organ, and after many hours of drinking, moving an organ and fitting into an already packed up van is a difficult proposition. But like spinach is to Popeye, Whiskey fueled Joppa's will and strength and the job was completed.
